This test allows the measurement of the undrained cohesion of a fine soil using a laboratory vane test apparatus. It applies to natural fine soil samples with low shear resistance and laboratory specimens made from fine materials. Il s'applique aux prélèvements de sols fins naturels de faible résistance au cisaillement et aux éprouvettes confectionnées en laboratoire à partir de matériaux fins. L'essai au scissomètre de laboratoire est effectué directement sur le sol se trouvant dans l'étui contenant le prélèvement, afin de limiter les remaniements.
