Entry: Rock - Point load strength test - Franklin test

URI: https://data.geoscience.fr/ncl/Proc/140

The Franklin test is a resistance test that consists of breaking rock fragments of any shape, or from cores, between two conical pieces with spherical termination. The thickness of the samples between these two points can vary from 25 to 100 mm. This test is generally carried out on a large number of specimens (at least 10, in particular in the case of heterogeneity or anisotropy).
