Entry: Hydraulic Testing of pre-existing fractures (HTPF)

The HTPF method provides an evaluation of the complete stress tensor, independant of borehole orientation. A section of borehole is sealed off by use of two inflatable rubber. Hydraulic flow is injected gradually raising the pressure until a fracture is initiated in the rock.
